SummaryInterferometric SAR (InSAR), a unique and effective data analysis, is expected used for DEM generation and the detection of cluster movement. HIT has been studying the application of InSAR technology for DEM generation and cluster movement detection. Through these studies, the coherence information, which is obtained through data processing for InSAR, was found effectively used for land cover monitoring. At a moment the possible application by coherence information are the detection of deforestation and the detection of pyroclastic flow due to volcanic eruption by using repeat-pass InSAR data pairs of L-band SAR. ALOS/PALSAR and Envisat/ASAR data are available only for repeat-pass observation. On the other hand, TerraSAR-X enables simultaneous interferometric observation with X-band data and the coherence information obtained from that data pairs will possibly give complementary information for distinguish land cover conditions, especially vegetative conditions, which are generally difficult to distinguish by the coherence of repeat-pass interferometric data pairs due to low coherence values
