SummaryThe proposal is aimed at developing algorithms for the extraction of geometrical characteristics of man-made structures from high resolution SAR data. In particular, building 3D geometries and road network structure are expected to be extracted from the original scenes. The project will consider approaches based on direct inversion of SAR data as well as inversion through image processing techniques.

Expected outcome of the project is set of interpretation tools well suited for TerraSAR-X data, and able to provide geometrical information about structures such as buildings or roads in a semi-automatic way. These tools will be validated by means of test areas and will be designed for working under much possible viewing geometry, with the option to exploit more views for an improved extraction.
