SummaryThe objectives are to achieve robust results for the ground fissures position with series of TerraSAR-X data for its high spatial resolution, especially for the small scale ground such as centimeter scale in width. As far as the small scale fissures positioning is concerned, the pseudo-coherence map of differential interferogram method will be mainly applied, and GPS installed for the ground fissures monitoring can calibrate the accuracy of the result from TerraSAR-InSAR. The ground fissures in Xian city will be tested with tens of TerraSAR-X data. The monitoring of large gradient deformation across the ground fissures with TerraSAR-X data is the second objective, especially for the fissures located in the suburban or agricultural areas, where SBAS(Small BAseline Subset) and PS(Permanent Scatters) methods will be applied. The ground fissures in Qingxu county will be tested, where larger than 4 cm in 70 days deformation has been achieved with Envisat data before. However we can not get reliable information in the region of low coherence and high gradient deformation. This proposal has been funded by two projects as the Natural Science Foundation of China, entitled as the research on the monitoring of urban ground fissures with InSAR technique and a key project of the Ministry of Land & Resources, China entitled as the research on the monitoring of land subsidence and ground fissures in Fenwei Basin. We will submit a preliminary and final research reports on the positioning and monitoring of the ground fissures in Xian and Qingxu region with TerraSAR-X data after the finish of this project.
