SummaryObjectives: complete assessment of multi-chromatic approach to wide-band SAR data analysis for the retrieval of topographic and atmospheric information, as well as of subtle ground deformations. Cross comparison between in-frequency detected and standard temporal persistent scatterers (PS). Methods: split of range bandwidth in a multi-frequency set of partial band images (multi-chromatic SAR imaging) and frequency analysis of target's phase in application to repeated pass SAR interferometry. Definition and selection of candidate PS in the frequency domain from single or short sequences of SAR interferograms, in addition to the classical PSI (Persistent Scatterer Interferometry) technique based on wide sets of SAR images. Data requirements: a set of data will be required mainly addressed to the assessment of software methodologies aimed to the extraction of the absolute ranging, atmospheric delay, ground topography, and ground deformations on selected targets. A few test sites have been selected, characterized by flat or smooth topography and the availability of accurate DEM or a nearby presence of a station of the European Network of Permanent GPS Stations. Deliverables: maps of both frequency- and temporal persistent scatterers, reports and publications on cross-comparisons between the two target populations, and more generally on techniques for multi-chromatic analysis of wide-band SAR data.
