SummaryInterferometry in urban areas is an important application of TerraSAR-X data. Specifically high-resolution spotlight data are a novum in civilian space-borne SAR systems and are provided to science users for the first time. Within this study, the high-resolution spotlight specific characteristics and algorithmic needs are assessed. DLR’s PSI processing system GENESIS is adopted accordingly and thus a space-borne tomography reference processing system set up. Stacks of TerraSAR-X data are used to demonstrate the mapping of the complicated geometrical 3D structure of some interesting cities.
