Summary

Objective of the project is the definition of high precision measurement and calibration procedures to lift the geometrical properties of SAR Imaging products to the knowledge and technical maturity of GNSS.

The radar times of a network of corner reflectors (CRs) with known on-ground coordinates shall be measured and compared with their expected values, computed on base of CR coordinates and satellite orbit. As the CRs are spread over a wide area, potential systematic effects shall be identified and correction schemes shall be established.

Measurement results on base of TerraSAR-X datatakes shall constitute a reference for equivalent measurements on base of Sentinel-1 data.
