SummaryEnvironment and Climate Change Canada and its Wildlife and Landscape Science Division are interested in monitoring coastal wetlands in Canada. We would like to develop a multi-sensor, multi-frequency approach to operationalize wetland mapping. Synthetic aperture radar has proven to be effective at mapping surface water, flooded vegetation and classifying wetlands. The data acquired will help develop methods and recommendations for mapping wetlands on an operational basis. The TerraSAR-X data will be acquired by Environment and Climate Change Canada. Data processing and analysis will be a collaborative effort between Environment and Climate Change Canada, Natural Resources Canada and DLR.
