SummaryMonitoring of ground subsidence is an important application of TerraSAR-X data. High-resolution spotlight data are a novelty in civilian space-borne SAR systems and are provided to science users for the first time. Within this study, high-resolution spotlight multi-temporal InSAR algorithms are assessed for mapping of ground subsidence due to the construction of a tunnel. Monitoring is performed during the construction of the tunnel as well as during its initial use phase. DLR’s InSAR processing system GENESIS is adapted accordingly and thus an advanced processing system set up. Interferometric stack processing is demonstrated and applied in an exemplary way for ground subsidence in order to assess the impact of tunnel construction.
