SummaryAgriculture has great importance for the sustainable developments of thecities. Moreover, climate change can affect the regions positively ornegatively so we should take care for the negative effects. SM is an importantparameter in terms of agriculture and climatology. The goal of this project isto estimate accurate SM using TerraSAR-X images with different polarizationsand incidence angles over specific areas such as agricultural lands and soiltypes. To investigate SM via TerraSAR-X data sets backscattering coefficientsand some original and modified radar SM estimation methods are considered to beimplemented. We aimed to investigate the potential of TerraSAR-X images forestimating SM over different land types. After accuracy assessment of imageswith in-situ measurements, soil moisture maps will be generated and the mosteffective estimation over different crop type or land type will be presented.
