SummaryIt is well known that an earthquake causes surface displacements that influence our society and individual life. The complex displacement patterns in co-seismic period and its relationship with fault slip have been well investigated. However, the detailed displacement patterns in post-seismic period and its relationship with subsurface structure have not been intensively studied yet.In this study we investigate changes in surface displacement pattern before and after the 2011 Tohoku earthquake, and reveal the relationship between subsurface structures with displacement pattern change due to the earthquake. We used persistent scatterer interferometry (PSI) to estimate surface displacements. The estimated displacements will be validated by GEONET, a dense GPS network in Japan. TerraSAR-X data (strip map mode) acquired from 2010-2014 is needed. Other data (ALOS and ALOS-2 data) will be prepared by the investigators.
