SummaryThe main objective of our research project is to model appropriate Landslide prediction parameters using the inherent characteristics of Radar and Optical Remote Sensing as information extraction techniques. There are imperative causal factors that are to be analyzed for the detection of landslides and zonation mapping such as geology, land use,land form, slope, flow direction, hill shade, rainfall and soil moisture. Out of Landslide prediction parameters, DEM plays a vital role when predicting the Landslide prone areas giving information about slope, aspect and deformation. SAR Interferometry (InSAR) is potentially a unique tool for low cost, precise DEM generation and large coverage surface deformation monitoring.
