SummaryWe propose to use TSX images to study magmatic, tectonic and geothermal processes in and around Long Valley caldera that can lead to measureable surface deformation. The 11 day repeat time of the TSX platform and high spatial resolution should enable detailed studies within a summer season that cannot be conducted with available C and L band platforms. During a normal year, Long Valley caldera is covered with snow from November through June effectively allowing good summer to summer studies of caldera deformation but only limited studies within one snow-free season. We aim to study the following phenomena with TSX data: 1) caldera-wide deformation, 2) deformation related to geothermal activity, 3) earthquake swarm deformation, and 4) intracaldera landslides.
