SummaryBecause of the high resolution, the high geometric accuracy and the low sensitivity to ionospheric errors, extremly high measurement accuracy could be demonstrated in the past by the applicants. This new technology, called "Imaging Geodesy" can augment, maybe even replace GPS networks. Interferometric and correlation techniques shall be used to measure solid earth displacements in 3 dimensions. Data shall be combined and compared with other data sources such as GPS, ASAR, PALSAR and Radarsat-2 using the GEO data exchange mechanisms.
Final ReportThe proposal was used to acquired data within the early framework of the GEO Supersite initiative. Tohoku-oki was an event-supersite, details can be found here: For results obtained by DLR staff, please check the uploded publication.
