SummaryThe objective of this data proposal is the investigation of sediment accumulations after flood events in the vicinity of river Elbe in North Germany. There is an increase of major flooding events in North Germany along the river Elbe over the last 20 years. In situ observations showed that there is a vertical change of land surface at the shoreside up to 1m in 100 hundred years. This height change leads to a decrease of the volume capacity between the dykes and embankments along the river. For the protection of the hinterlands of the dyke regions one has to heighten the top of the dykes. For the estimation of possible height changes in the area between the groynes and the accreting banks we want to use PS as well as SBAS interferometry proccessing chains. For that investigation we want to use TerraSAR-X and ENVISAT time series. Funding for this study is done by the administration of the federal state of Lower Saxony in Germany.
