TitleMapping mining-induced time-series displacements with TerraSAR-X data andlogistic model

SummaryIn the project, we mainly aim to proposea method for mapping time-series subsidence caused by underground extractionwith InSAR technique and logistic model. Due to the InSAR-derived deformationis along the radial line-of-sight (LOS) direction, whereas the logistic modelmerely enables to describe the displacement along the vertical direction, wefirstly need to construct the functional relationship between model parametersof logistic model. Consequently, a nonlinear searching algorithm will be appliedto estimate the model parameters of logistic model based on InSAR-derivedmulti-temporal observations. At last, the time-series subsidence could bepredicted with logistic model. About 150 archived TerraSAR-X data over Shanxi, Henan,Shandong, China, are required in this project. We plan topublish 2–3 peer-reviewed papers in which at least 1 paper should be indexed bySCI with the support of the project. Additionally, the software for mappingmining-induced time-series subsidence with InSAR and logistic model will be coded.The study is mainly funded by: (1) “Measuring and predicting groundmining-induced 3D displacements and quantitatively detecting undergroundextraction based on InSAR”,National ScienceFoundation of China (No. 41474008);(2)“Predicting mining-induced 3-D displacements andassessing resulting structural damage with InSAR” NASG Key Laboratory of LandEnvironment and Disaster Monitoring (No. LEDM2014B07).
