SummaryForest biophysical parameters are essential for ecosystem monitoring, modeling and management.Tree height affects plant community dynamics and composition, boundary layer meteorology and microclimate, and wildlife habit value. Meanwhile, tree heightalso is a fundamental variable in allometric equations that estimate forestbiomass and productivity. Forest biomass is the most integrative forest parameter essential for ecological modeling and forest inventory and is today the big unknown in global ecosystem change modelling. POLInSAR is a very useful approach for forest application in forest biophysical parameters retrieval. However,the errorsof interferometric coherence values have never been considered. In addition,the relationship between PCT result and biomass is unknown. The method to solve that is: Based on surveying adjustment, a complex least squares method will be proposed to obtain more robust resultsfrom RVOG model. Using more observations, like multiple baselines, we can apply complex least squares method to smooth out errors of interferometric coherence values and obtain more robust results.It can prove useful method for the project of 1:50000 Western Mapping inChina. (1)We use linear regression method to find the relationship between PCT and biomass. Inthis way, we can find a better model, who can describe the relationship between PCT results and biomass accurately. It is very important for us for the reason that we wantto monitor the forest biomass of Hunan in China.
