SummaryQuaresma14.00The city of Bursalocated in the Southern Marmara was devastated by two major earthquakesoccurred in 1855. These earthquakes, which caused deaths over 2000, areestimated to have magnitude Mw > 7.0 with respect to the historicaldocuments which reported the damages in the region. In this respect, Bursa isalso under the risk of a devastating earthquake, hence the surface deformationson the basin must be monitored and determined. Along with the conventional andterrestrial surface displacement observation methods on fault zones, DINSAR hasbegun to be employed in monitoring tectonic movements.
