SummaryTheTerraSAR-X, e.g., the SpotLight image with swath of 30 km and spatial resolution of 1 m can significantly improve the detectionof marine observation such as ocean wave and the Stripmap image with swath of 50 km and spatial resolution of 3 m can be better used for wind field and wave retrieval due to high resolution. Now the newly mode of TerraSAR-X ('Staring Spotlight' and '6 Beam ScanSAR') has been launched.The different modes of TerraSAR-X give the opportunity to better application for marine application such as wind field and ocean wave in coastal sea. The final result of this OA is to check the validation of XMOD2 and find a suitable algorithm for wave parameters retrieval in the coastal sea around China using TerraSAR-X image.
